About AIIMS Nagpur

Established in 2018, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Nagpur is the 21st AIIMS in the country and a beacon of hope for Central India's healthcare landscape.

Located in the MIHAN (Multi-modal International Hub Airport) area of Nagpur, the institute sprawls over 150 acres with state-of-the-art infrastructure. Our mission is to bring parity in tertiary healthcare access to the Vidarbha region and beyond, reducing the need for patients to travel to metros for advanced treatment.

AIIMS Nagpur operates under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), aiming to correct regional imbalances in affordable tertiary healthcare and to augment facilities for quality medical education. We are an autonomous institution functioning under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

The institute has rapidly grown into a multi-specialty quaternary care hospital with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, including a 1.5 Tesla MRI, 128-Slice CT Scan, Cath Labs, and modular Operation Theatres. Our focus extends beyond treatment to holistic care, encompassing prevention, rehabilitation, and health promotion.

AIIMS Nagpur houses over 50 super-specialty and specialty departments providing comprehensive care across all major disciplines of medicine and surgery.

Cardiology & CTVS

Advanced cardiac care including coronary angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker implantation, and bypass surgery. Our department is equipped with a dedicated Cardiac Cath Lab and ICCU.

Neurology & Neurosurgery

Comprehensive management of stroke, epilepsy, brain tumors, and spinal disorders. We offer advanced neuroimaging, EEG, and minimally invasive neurosurgical procedures.

Oncology

Multidisciplinary cancer care with medical, surgical, and radiation oncology. Facilities include a Linear Accelerator (LINAC) for radiotherapy, chemotherapy day care, and palliative care services.

Pediatrics & Neonatology

Level III Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, and specialized clinics for cardiology, neurology, and endocrinology. We provide comprehensive child health services from birth to adolescence.

Orthopedics & Trauma

Advanced trauma center, joint replacement surgeries, arthroscopy, and spine surgery. We handle complex polytrauma cases and have a dedicated limb reconstruction unit.

Ophthalmology

Complete eye care including cataract surgery (Phacoemulsification), glaucoma management, retina services, and pediatric ophthalmology. We have a dedicated eye bank and community outreach programs.

Medical Education & Training

AIIMS Nagpur is a premier institution for medical education, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. We nurture the next generation of healthcare professionals with a curriculum that emphasizes clinical skills, research, and ethical practice.

MBBS Program

Our MBBS program admits 100 students annually through the NEET-UG examination. The 5.5-year program includes a rigorous curriculum with early clinical exposure, skill labs, and community postings in tribal and rural areas of Maharashtra.

Postgraduate (MD/MS/DM/MCh)

We offer a wide range of postgraduate and super-specialty courses (DM/MCh) in disciplines like Cardiology, Neurology, Gastroenterology, and Surgical Oncology. Admission is through the INI-CET examination conducted by AIIMS, New Delhi.

Nursing & Paramedical

College of Nursing offers B.Sc. and M.Sc. Nursing programs. We also conduct diploma courses in various paramedical streams such as Medical Lab Technology, Radiography, and Operation Theatre Technology.

Continuing Medical Education (CME)

Regular workshops, seminars, and conferences are organized to update healthcare professionals on the latest advances. We collaborate with international institutions for knowledge exchange.

Maternal & Child Health: Projects aimed at reducing maternal mortality and improving neonatal outcomes in tribal communities.
